Great Quote To Think About In The Context Of Safety At Work
This is a famous quote by Sir Thomas More from his book “Utopia”, written in 1516. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utopia_(book). It was also quoted in the film “Ever After – A Cinderella Story”
The quote struck a chord with me in the context of how we treat people at work when managing safety and risk.
Who can share their interpretation of the quote and how it relates to managing people, safety and risk in the workplace? (please use the comments section below).
If you are looking for an example of what I am thinking then have a read of this article – it’s not a pleasant one!
“For if you suffer your people to be ill-educated, and their manners to be corrupted from their infancy, and then punish them for those crimes to which their first education disposed them, what else is to be concluded from this, but that you first make thieves and then punish them.”
Thankyou to Kelly Cooper for sharing this quote in a comment on this LinkedIn article: – There is nothing better than a blitz
