How an Obsession with SAFETY Leads to Mental Illness & Tyranny – Academy of Ideas
An interesting find by Carol Jadzia Beauchemin, who says:
Live dangerously.
Safety is often built on a world as imagined by authoritarian narratives and top down control.
Rather than the reality as done by those getting on with their lives.
Safety is just part of what we do, not the main focus of why we are doing it.
Rob Long says
Nothing says brutalism better than asking fallible people to be perfect.

A nice video. The archetype of Safety fosters such an obsession. The inward looking mono disciplinary look of engineering and science creates this obsession. This is because it proposes perfection (zero) when there is none. There is no greater route to a mental health disorder than zero ideology.
BRENT R CHARLTON says
Isn’t perfectionism (whatever the “official” name might be) a recognized mental disorder?
