Free Semiotics Workshops – February 2024

Registration for the free online Semiotics workshop closes on 9 February (https://safetyrisk.net/first-free-online-course-with-dr-long-for-2024-semiotics/). Four sessions on semiotics and risk then commence at 9am on 20 February. This is open to anyone has previously studied an introduction to SPoR. It will be expected that participants do a little reading, journaling and watching a few videos.

The program introduces participants to semiotic thinking and ways of knowing beyond the behaviourist-engineering paradigm of safety. The program privileges visual-verbal ways of knowing that provide everyday skills for engaging, interacting and helping others tackle risk. The focus will be on how visual-verbal strategies influence the unconscious.
