Social Psychology of Risk Two Day Workshop

Dr Long is presenting a two day workshop on the Social Psychology of Risk in collaboration with the Safety Science Innovation Lab at Griffith University (https://www.griffith.edu.au/humanities-languages/safety-science-innovation-lab ). The two day workshop on 10,11 April 2017 will be delivered to Post-Graduate students in risk and safety and a number of spaces are available for non-students to participate. Participants will receive a Certificate of Participation from the University and accreditation towards Certification if studying with the Centre for Leadership and Learning in Risk (http://cllr.com.au/ ).
Content in the Two day Workshop includes:
· Understanding human decision making
· Perception, Motivation and Layers of Risk
· Language and discourse in risk
· The challenge of heuristics
· The collective unconscious and culture
· The question of paradox, risk and learning
· Fallibility, turbulence, randomness and zero
· Fragility, emergence and the psychology of goals
· An overview of semiotics
· Skills for risk and safety management
· Maturity, wisdom and discernment
