It’s a Risky Christmas – A Xmas Safety Poem without the word Safety In it:
“So what is the rush to complete stuff before the end of the year about… here is a little poem that puts the highlight on the dangers of rushing to complete at Christmas time; it is about safety without mentioning safety” – Max Geyer
We know that time and place,
perception, priming, pace.
Make the mind and heart,
of each expectation race.
When lights and tinsel raise,
and carol songs of praise.
Our sites are dim, as dreaded deadline’s daze.
When we think about this time,
of gifts and glitter glare.
Parties end, rosters bend,
and bottles clink by pair.
When lights and tinsel raise,
and carol songs of praise.
Our sites are dim, in dreaded deadline’s days.
With misdirection maze,
and dollars bonus blaze.
Working wakes, December takes,
its own distraction ways.
When lights and tinsel raise,
and carol songs of praise.
Our sights are dim, as dreaded deadlines daze.
When shift and shove are changed,
and tasks are rearranged.
Extended hours, and summer showers,
and judgment becomes estranged.
When lights and tinsel raise,
and carol songs of praise.
Our sites are dim, in dreaded deadlines days.
A masterful mix of mates,
a matted mileu of fates.
Beset our work, a risk of kinds,
Decisions can’t be late.
When lights and tinsel raise,
and carol songs of praise.
Our sights are dim, as dreaded deadlines daze.
With paper push in duel,
our minds are flooded full.
Our presence active waits,
with minds on presents pull.
When lights and tinsel raise,
and carol songs of praise.
Our sites in spin, in dreaded deadlines days.
There’s nothing cannot wait,
the rush out of the gate.
The moment’s must, its boom or bust,
the lull of looming late.
When lights and tinsel raise,
and carol songs of praise.
Our sights are dim, as dreaded deadlines daze.
