Some thoughts by Dave Whitefield on what moving towards risk and safety maturity looks like, and why I think embracing risk (as opposed to just managing it, or worse, rejecting it) is an essential step along the way. (Video length-18:53)

Well done Dave, a great presentation indeed.I do similar work as you with top tier mining companies in Qld.Tt is so refreshing to see that I am not the only one out there trying make a directional change away from orthodox safety and counting injuries. I focus primarily on care, psychological safety and relationship centered approach to leadership as a foundation.
Thanks again
Shannon

Outstanding presentation, it made alot of sense. The worldview of most in the world of orthodox safety will never allow for this approach. The cognitive dissonance is way to much, the lack of education in ethics is vast and they believe its just easier to “manage” even though long term its not sustainable and will produce the same results over and over. Cults have nothing over the power of Orthodox safety to be shown a viable alternative that rejects absolutes and embraces humanity and treat it as white noise.
