Developing an effective safety culture
One of our favourite article submitters and guru on the subjects of safety culture and job hazard analysis has written his own book on the subject. “Developing An Effective Safety Culture – A Leadership Approach” was written by James Roughton and is currently prescribed as a text by a number of Universities.
The book provides a comprehensive guide to the right approach to developing an effective safety culture. The book introduces and understanding of the cost of incidents, then to moves onto different perspectives and descriptions of management safety systems, key leadership traits, developing, implementing and monitoring goals and objectives, leading by example, why do cultures fail, measuring success and assigning responsibilities to appropriate personnel. Practical hazard assessment guides are also provided.
