Safe Work Methods in Construction
NSW Construction Site Safety Guide 2013/14 – Released
Regardless of the legal responsibilities, morally, no business, employer, or worker wants to see his or her employee or work colleague injured at work. Safety is important for all workplaces, but it is especially important for those working on construction sites. To increase awareness of current site safety issues and requirements Pro-Visual Publishing has released the newest edition of the NSW Construction Site Safety Guide. This easy-to-read guide is supported by the Master Builders Association of NSW, as well as the Australian Constructors Association and is distributed to construction companies and sites throughout , New South Wales to ensure that site safety is a priority for all involved in the construction project.
This year’s Guide covers topics highlighting the most common injury claims and safety issues within this field of work including: working at heights, safe work method statements and how to safely use power tools such as grinders/cut-off saws. Workers need to be able to recognise the hazards associated with these types of power tools and the safety precautions to be employed when using such tools, as well as the safety precautions involved when working at various heights.
“I would like to thank all of the sponsors of the NSW Construction Site Safety Guide 2013/14. Their support has made it possible for the guide to be distributed free of charge”, said John Hutchings, CEO, Pro-Visual Publishing.
