So after a lot of videos and getting to understand Poetics and the Unconscious, how do we apply this to risk? How do we communicate unconsciously?
Communication via checklists has already been proven to not give people meaning and purpose in an organisation. In fact most people in an organisation cannot tell you what gives them meaning and purpose straight off the bat as they have never thought or surfaced these concepts.
We also communicate unconsciously via gesture, posture, expression, proxemics, vocal qualities of tone and pitch, facial expression, haptics and eye contact, to name a few.
But these also become a metaphor, a semiotic, a symbol, and a language.
So how is your Organisation communicating Unconsciously?
What message are you really sending ?
Is it the one you intended?
Are you motivating or demotivating your people?
Are they with you?

Another good chat Matt. It’s a shame safety remains locked in its fixation on the measurable and quanta. Cause the real learning is in the subjective nature of unconscious decisions making. Sadly, of no interest to Safety.
