iAuditor–Safety Auditing App

In breaking news, TECHCRUNCH reports that:

SafetyCulture, the maker of a b2b inspection checklist app called iAuditor, has pulled in a $23 million Series B funding led by Index Ventures…………..The iAuditor app aims to replace paper-based check-lists for safety inspections, to not only speed up checks and make them more efficient but also to enable companies to centralize inspection data so it can be analyzed and benchmarked, and so that risks can be flagged in real-time.

Since it’s initial release in February 2012, iAuditor by SafetyCulture Australia has been used to conduct over 1,000,000 audits.

“The response from users has confirmed that they are prepared to share and collaborate if they have the technology to do so.” says Luke Anear, managing director of SafetyCulture. “Not only does this make inspections faster to perform, the records can be backed up and emailed in seconds instead of being filed and scanned generating mountains of paper.”

User reviews for iAuditor on Apple’s online App store seem to support Luke’s sentiments.

“Crane inspection ★★★★★
by Sunshine crane repairs – Version 1.5.4 – Aug 20, 2012
The Best app I have ever down-loaded. this app saves a heap of time on site and then when I am at home, the task is already done no more sitting at the computer writing out reports.”

“Awesome ★★★★★
by Speedkat911 – Version 1.4.1 – Jun 20, 2012
Amazing App, has to be one of the best free apps available. Perfect safety system tool, it has allowed us to transform our business overnight to a paperless system.”

While the app itself has digitised what has traditionally been a paper process, SafetyCulture insists that it’s the collaborative environment that the app resides in that will really drive a fresh approach to how workplace safety is managed.

“The cloud sharing facility within iAuditor means that users can share Audit templates and checklists, for others to access from within the app itself. With 300,000 downloads of shared templates so far, there’s a good chance that no matter what it is you’re about to audit, someone has done something similar and you can benefit from their experience” explains Luke.

Many of the shared audit templates have a broad appeal across multiple industries such as vehicle inspection checklists or daily mine inspection forms and others are finding uses that have little to do with safety, such as real estate inspection checklists and even credit application forms.

But it’s not just small business embracing the collaborative side of iAuditor. Many notable organisations now have templates on the SafetyCulture cloud including Virgin Atlantic, K-Mart, Burger King and even the U.S. Navy.
But so much for version 1. Today’s release of iAuditor 2.0, which the developer claims is completely rebuilt from the ground up, brings a suite of improvements including:

· Scoring – Ability to score categories and individual responses

· Weighting – Ability to place greater importance on certain categories or questions for high priority

· Branching & Sub-categories – Ability to add unlimited sub-categories to an item

· Dynamic Smart Fields – Ability to create actions to have question sets appear based on the responses being provided.

· Image Importing – Ability to import Images as part of the template questions

· Up to five customised default options – Ability to customise the standard Yes/No/NA responses

· References and Links – Ability to include web links and references to documents in template or report.

· Template Locking – Templates can be locked with a password and not edited.

· Export dual format csv & pdf option

· Hyperlinks within a template for reference materials, legislation etc..

· Custom Document numbering for each device

· Email subject customisation

· Default email address embedded in template for completed audits to be sent to

· Time stamps and date stamps for sections

iAuditor is available as a free download for iPad and iPhone on Apple’s App Store.
