Myth and mythology is best understood with some studies in Religion.
Anthropologists always look for what did people worship in order to understand their culture. Therse things include the symbols and rituals that come with a mythology.
They are worshipped as fact, even if they are not true.
Pandora’s Box
The paradox that we behave believing something even when there is no evidence. It quiets sneaks into our discourse via metaphor and becomes common knowledge
The best example in Safety is the SWMS/JHA/JSA, call it what you like.
It is a commonly held belief that if we have a piece of paper describing the pitfalls of a task, that this piece of paper will keep us free from harm.
Zero Harm if you will.
