Safety in the HVAC&R Workplace
HVAC&R Industry Guide to Workplace Safety – Released
Pro-Visual Publishing, with the support from NSCA and AMCA, is pleased to announce the release of their newest edition of their annual publication, HVAC&R Industry Guide to Workplace Safety. This year’s guide covers the most current hot topics to do with WHS employer and employee duties and responsibilities. This guide was distributed free of charge to Contractors, Service Operators and Engineers throughout the HVAC&R industry to try and create safety awareness, and contribute to the safety and wellbeing of all involved.
This year’s guide covers a range of topics to do with advice and information on WHS within the workplace. All industry members should be up-to-date with newest WHS laws and regulations, therefore, one important topic in this year’s guide explains the new WHS harmonisation model, its key principles and how it will affect industry members.
Other topics covered include, how to plan, develop and implement a Safety Management System and safety procedures to help minimise risk when handling refrigerants and leaks. Along with those, airborne hazards from HVAC&R systems are identified and explained with cleaning and maintenance tips offered to help reduce those hazards. Furthermore, electrical safety is discussed which highlights Do’s and Don’ts when undertaking electrical work and connecting/disconnecting from electrical supplies, including special attention to these 16″x20″x1″ furnace filters – which have been a cause of electrocutions for HVAC specialists incorrectly installing them.
“I would like to thank all of the sponsors of the HVAC&R Industry Guide to Workplace Safety
2014/15. Their support has made it possible for the guide to be distributed free of charge”, said John Hutchings, CEO, Pro-Visual Publishing.
