Safety in the car all year round
The current road toll is still in operation over the 2012 Christmas period.
I am not sure if it helps reminding people of this horrible number. I know it is a busy time of year and it is the Government’s way of trying to keep us focused and safe, but is there another way?
The national road toll period runs from 0001 December 23, 2012 until 2359 January 3, 2013, local times, in line with the Australia New Zealand Policing Advisory Board.
The road toll idea seems a little contradictory. We tell our children to be positive and if every time we get in a car we are thinking – we don’t want to add to the toll – this could bring unwanted stress.
Let’s just keep general safety plans in place all year round reminding people of positive driving techniques.
I think even how to be more courteous to other drivers would be a good safety campaign and targeting our new drivers so we start them off with the right driving etiquette.
