Pedro holds a PhD in “Manufacturing Engineering and Operations Management” by the University of Nottingham. He has over 20 years of experience, both as a researcher and a consultant in the fields of ergonomics and human factors, occupational health and safety, risk management and resilience. He has led several projects on risk assessment and prevention across different industry sectors, namely in transport (road, rail, aviation and maritime), process industry and the oil & gas sector. He also has experience in EU funded research projects. For over 10 years, he has lectured several courses on safety and ergonomics and human factors related subjects within academia. He is currently working with Novellus Solutions, and he is a researcher (Joint Professor) at CENTEC - Centre for Marine Technology and Ocean Engineering of the University of Lisbon.
