Jobs At Home Day
Worksafe Victoria have just launched a new campaign “jobs at home day” – 15th February. Statistics from a Worksafe study in 2012 revealed that 58% of workers have never considered the impact a workplace accident would have on their loved ones at home.
They are asking everyone to make home job badges as a reminder of how important their jobs (ie like just being there) at home are and the impact an injury would have on those important jobs if they were to be injured at work. The purpose of the ‘Jobs at Home Day’ initiative is simply to stimulate conversation amongst workers, their families and friends of workers about the core message: “the most important reason to be safe at work is not at work at all”
“With Jobs at Home Day, we’re urging people to think about the other people who are affected by a workplace accident: the family who lose their Dad and Chief Bedtime Storyteller.”
