Invaluable Tool for Oil & Gas Industry Workers
The oil & gas industry is an attractive and lucrative career choice for many workers in Australia. However, workers are faced with significant health and safety risks on a day-to-day basis. Pro-Visual Publishing aims to address this through the latest release of the Oil and Gas Industry Guide to Workplace Safety. It is hoped that the provision of this vital safety information on a visually appealing guide will continue to strengthen and encourage safety awareness throughout the industry.
This year’s edition presents a detailed and easy-to-understand breakdown of the responsibilities faced by rig crew and their supervisors. Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification is a prominent focus, with an extensive breakdown of different risk categories and listing methods to identify and control a workplace hazard by isolating the risk or eliminating it altogether. Other helpful sections include tips for workers to adapt to new facilities and incident response, mustering and evacuation in the event of an emergency.
“I would like to thank all of the sponsors for their support of the Oil and Gas Industry Guide to Workplace Safety 2012/13, who have made it possible for another edition of this invaluable resource to be distributed at no cost to the industry” – John Hutchings, CEO, Pro- Visual Publishing.
