Smart OHS announces system upgrade complete
SYDNEY 26 May 2010: Today Smart OHS announced that the latest upgrade to its online OHS system is complete.
Smart OHS Executive Director, Chris Beasley, said the upgrade would allow Smart OHS to target four new industries.
“We added new inspection forms and further functionality to be able to offer the system to four new industries to join the 16 we currently provide systems for”, Mr. Beasley said.
Smart OHS is an online OHS system that provides workplaces of all sizes with member accounts to access online OHS tools such as OHS risk assessments, policies and procedures manuals, workplace safety inspection forms, staff inductions and more.
The system is unique in that it engages the user by sending regular email reminders to explain when tasks are due and how to use the online tools to make managing OHS easy.
Smart OHS now has plans to expand further, after the upgrade, with assistance from workers compensation insurance companies and insurance brokers.
“We’re targeting the workers compensation insurers and brokers to assist us with distribution of our product. It’s a pretty easy decision for them, when they consider that with the new workplace health and safety act coming in 2012, their clients will be directing their enquiries in relation to how best to comply with the laws to either their broker or insurer. Not a bad marketing tool either and we now have a system that can be used over 20 industries or customised individually for larger organisations to suit requirements”, Mr. Beasley said.
The new four industries the new upgrade brought on are: Education/School, Gym/Aquatic/Dance Studio, Golf/Cricket/Football Facility and Medical Facility/Hospital.
