Philosophy for Risk and Safety – Free Workshops

Dr Long is happy to announce his first suite of free workshops for 2026. The workshop series will focus on Philosophy and SPoR. You can read an overview of this course here: https://cllr.com.au/product/philosophy-and-spor-module-23/

These workshops will commence 5 May and every following Tuesday at 9am Canberra time. That is, four 60 minute sessions on 5, 12, 18 and 26 May.

This is a beginner entry level course aimed at helping people in risk and safety, consider and identify their philosophy (methodology) that drives their method. You do not have to be a previous student of SPoR to join in.

The text for the course is: Envisioning Risk, Seeing, Vision and Meaning in Risk (for free download here: https://www.humandymensions.com/product/envisioning-risk-seeing-vision-and-meaning-in-risk/).

If you want to register for this workshop series you can do so by an email to admin@spor.com.au

Numbers are strictly limited.

Please don’t register if you are not prepared to read and study the basics of philosophy. Homework will be set each week and this will require reading and watching some videos.

Registrations will close on 7 April and then the cohort group will be emailed with preparation required for the series. This will include access to the video series from previous studies.

So, if you are curious about what philosophies drive safety and risk or, what philosophies dominate safety methods, this series is for you.

Please apply by writing here: admin@spor.com.au
