Forklift Training – Latest from Easy Guides
Welcome to 2011. While we wait for the Safe Work Australia national assessment instruments to come out of the review process, state and territory variations in high risk licensing will continue. This can be confusing for customers, especially those operating in more than one state or territory. Easy Guides Australia will continue to keep you informed of the implementation changes and which products best suit your state or territory.
In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact our office if you would like to discuss the current licensing situation – we know how confusing it can be and are happy to help our clients in any way we can. Telephone: 1300 733 220.
Safety & Licence Guides mapped to high risk units
We have mapped our national Safety & Licence Guides to the new high risk licence units of competency. This will enable them to form course material for RTOs delivering the new ‘Licence to…’ units of competency.
While the Safe Work Australia assessment instruments are still in review, most states and territories are still using the NOHSC assessment instruments.
Mapping our guides to the high risk units enables them to perform a dual function:
1. Continue to prepare students for the current NOHSC assessment instruments.
2. Show alignment with the new high risk units and identify any gaps where they may exist. This will enable the Guides to be incorporated into existing high risk licence training materials.
Guides cost $21.50 each for 10+ copies including GST & postage (can be any combination of subjects).

Using assessment instruments as a training tool. Some states and territories currently allow the NOHSC assessment instruments to be used as a training tool. In NSW for example, they can be downloaded from the Internet.
A few states and territories are using draft copies of the Safe Work Assessment Instruments. In the new licensing system, the Safe Work Australia assessment instruments CANNOT be used as a training tool. It is therefore important that the high risk licence training materials you use are comprehensive and cover in detail the information in BOTH the units of competency and the draft Safe Work Australia assessment instruments.
Easy Guides Australia has gone into partnership with a large RTO in producing these new products. We have made sure that our new materials cover in detail the information both in:
1. the high risk licence units of competency
2. the Safe Work Australia assessment instruments.
Only thoroughly prepared quality training materials will prepare your students adequately for the final summative assessment (assessment instrument).
