We have a number of copies of Dr Rob Long’s book to give away. (read more about the book here) All you have to do is send us either a story about where zero harm is a nonsense or send us a slogan that inspires people to be motivated to safety that is non-zero.
Email your entry to admin@safetyrisk.com.au

First Winner (who wishes to remain anonymous):
Hello Dr Long,
I inherited a health and safety system signposted with “Safety is our first priority.”
It isn’t. Strangely enough, survival then profitability of the business are the highest priorities. The consequences of a serious accident are a threat to that survival and provide the context for occupational health and safety as a managed cost for this caring, expanded family business.
If we now had a safety slogan, which we do not, it would be my usual reminder to our electricians:
“Respect the unexpected. Think through your risks.”
I would be delighted to be considered for the prize of a copy of “For the Love of Zero” but acknowledge that I have recently won and enjoyed “Real Risk.”
