Due Diligence Workshop – Sydney 1,2 February 2018
Places are limited for the Due Diligence Workshop in Sydney on 1,2 February to be held at the Wayside Chapel Kings Cross. The workshop is being hosted by Dr Rob Long and Greg Smith, authors of Risky Conversations, The Law and the Social Psychology of Risk. The workshop includes a tour of the successful work of Wayside with the homeless, community work, managing addictions and people at risk. The CEO of Wayside Graham Long AO will also give a presentation on how Wayside understands and tackles risk.
In the workshop Greg and Rob address many of the misconceptions that exist about Due Diligence and provide practical advice and tools in what to do about the challenges of risk at work. Greg provides extensive case studies showing that much of what is believed to be effective in safety does not stand up in court. That is, many of the activities that safety people undertake do not demonstrate that safety systems actually work. Greg’s key question is: how can you demonstrate that your safety systems are effective?
Rob highlights the way people make decisions and the nature of social influences on decision making. He provides some very practical tools that assist engagement, critical thinking and understanding the challenges of risk at work. Rob’s key question is: what can I do to help others best manage risk?
