It’s footy season in Australia and time for tackling (sorry the pun) the unpredictability and risk of harm in sport. Of course, if you want to kill the fun, entertainment and enjoyment of footy, why not ask Safe Work Australia over to share the time in from of the TV with a few beers?
This from Safe Work Australia for Grand Final day.
Look what happens when your worldview of zero (https://safetyrisk.net/the-sponsors-of-zero-are/) drives you to this kind of lunacy.
I know, let’s cancel footy because people get harmed!
All this does it demonstrate just how out of touch Safety is with reality. Everyone involved in footy accepts the reality of harm. Everyone involved in footy know that outcomes are NOT predictable. It seems only Safety lives in an alternate reality of human error and harm anxiety.
With this kind of stuff being projected by Safe Work Australia why would anyone think that the Safety holds any relevance to real living?
Of course, how does the regulator want you to frame your worldview? Hazards! And the best part is, the poster doesn’t list any of the significant high-risk outcomes associated with Grand Finals! You couldn’t make this up.
- No wonder people think that Safety is out of touch and irrelevant.
- No wonder people think Safety is an embuggerance.
- No wonder, the word ‘safety’ conjures up the idea of some moronic hero running around as the anti-fun police.
This is what Zero cultivates, irrelevance. Go Work Safe, Zero is the grand safety delusion.
Poor old Safety stuck in its own zero delusion (https://www.humandymensions.com/product/zero-the-great-safety-delusion/) without a clue of what to do. Poor old Safety, whose only hope is Traditional safety with a few new slogans.
If however, you want a methodology and method that accepts human error as foundational to human being and that knows how to enjoy learning-in-being, perhaps send an email (admin@spor.com.au), download a free book or audiobook (https://www.humandymensions.com/shop/) or listen to a podcast (https://open.spotify.com/show/1Au9CC2plFXLWQlqejpG82?si=tj4xHpKpR1aao3umcscOsw) to find out about a positive and constructive approach to risk.
Matt Thorne says
Is SafeWork Australia that bankrupt on ideas they will let marketing post what ever they want?
Rob Long says
Matt, its pretty obvious they are lost for ideas, have little innovative thinking and of course don’t consult. I’ve rarely seen something as stupendously silly and counter productive to the message to take safety seriously. Then again, why listen to critique? Just call it ‘toxic’ and you don’t have to engage.
