Car safety and children
There seems to be a lot of confusion about the age when children can sit in the passenger front seat of a car. In Australia kids can sit in the front seat if they are 8 years or over.
If the child is aged between 4 and 7 he/she can only sit in the front if the rest of the seats are taken up by children whom are younger.
Look up the Transport Department regulations in your State if you are still unsure.

Learner drivers have separate rules about mobile phones and noise by themselves or passengers.
While young drivers are high risk drivers. Experienced drivers are all at risk because of their attitude and their ignorance at times due to driving repetition.
I was trying to explain to my 8-year-old daughter what would happen if we had an accident travelling along the highway. I could tell she could not imagine even though I was saying: “See how fast we are going – if we had an accident – it would be very dangerous”. I believe Learner drivers would not fully understand this concept either or some experienced drivers.
Road deaths are horrific in every country and there would be so many near death experiences not accounted for in statistics.
The most common problems are mobile phone usage whilst driving, of course speeding and drink driving.
The Government should keep up the advertisements on fatal accidents – these advertisements did have an impact.
